Seniors Day Out

If you're 55 or older, you're invited to join us on the 4th Tuesday of each month for our gathering in the Fellowship Hall (below the sanctuary) of Christ Church.

We come together at 11:00 a.m. for a time of singing our favorite hymns, to pray for the needs of those we love, and to hear an uplifting message brought from a rotating group of pastors who serve the churches in our region.

At noon we break for a meal and some fellowship time around the table. The food is prepared in our own church kitchen and at a suggested donation of $3, it's priced right! Nobody goes away hungry, because seconds are usually available. Following lunch, we have a guest speaker. The range of topics for these programs is quite diverse. In the past we've had visiting missionaries tell us about life in foreign lands…local healthcare agencies bring information about aging issues…the Millcreek Police have shared information about road safety matters…a representative from Asbury Woods has shared the news of their improvements…and sometimes we have a game day, when people bring their favorite board or card games for a time of fun and fellowship. The name of the game is variety, and we do our best to keep things interesting.

Special events during the year include special music programs, a foliage trip in October, Christmas caroling in December, and a summer picnic in August. We usually take a break and don't meet during July.

If you're thinking about coming….just come! We don't even require reservations, and will be happy to meet you and help you get acquainted with some new friends when you arrive.
